Always Look for a Way Out
In any self-defense situation, your first priority should always be finding a way out. Escape is the best option when possible, but what happens when that’s no longer an option? Situations escalate fast, and if you’re not mentally and physically prepared, you could find yourself reacting too late.
Identifying a Threat Before It Escalates
Being situationally aware means constantly assessing your environment and identifying potential threats before they become unavoidable dangers. Ask yourself:
🔹 What do I look for to determine a threat?
🔹 At what point does a situation escalate to a deadly threat?
🔹 As a concealed carrier in public, how would I react in this scenario?
These are the kinds of split-second decisions we train for. Whether you're carrying or not, knowing when to de-escalate, escape, or defend yourself can mean the difference between survival and catastrophe.
Training for Real-World Decision-Making
At A+R Tactics, we train with real-world scenarios that force participants to think under pressure. The goal isn’t just to be proficient with a firearm or self-defense techniques—it’s to train your mind to process threats quickly and react accordingly.
We respect the effort our students put in when they train with us. Showing up ready to work, focused, and determinedis what separates those who are prepared from those who hesitate when it matters most.
